About Us

We, the Caregivers of Petrolia Ferals, believe that every creature has the right to the two basic needs for survival: food and shelter. Our mission is to ease the hardship of feral and vulnerable cats in Lambton County. For the well-being of the cats, we provide shelter, food and water daily, medical care, and TNR (trap-neuter-return) to combat overpopulation. We partner with the Sarnia & District Humane Society and other exceptional rescues to provide forever homes for adoptable cats and kittens. We strive to provide a nurturing environment of safety that results in a trusting relationship as a compassionate foundation between felines and caregivers.

Our Story

We began with two wonderful volunteers wanting to help make a difference for the feral cats living in Petrolia. The Caregivers of Petrolia Ferals started around 1998 and has helped numerous cats in Lambton County ever since. From the beginning, our dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to help support these beautiful feral cats. They fed and provided water to the colony cats daily, provided shelter and paid out of pocket for medical expenses and vet care. As the years passed, our community grew. We began caring for more colony cats in different areas around town, with our volunteer team growing to meet the needs of this vulnerable population. Today we support five colonies with up to 150 cats and numerous foster cats and kittens given a second chance at a warm and loving life.
