Different Types of Fosters

Foster cats, just like people, are all different. Some require a little extra support and attention. Keep reading about the different types of fosters and how you can make a big difference in their lives! At Caregiver of Petrolia Ferals we take care of all different types of cats and kittens.

Feral Kittens

Did you know feral cats and kittens are a lot different than strays? Feral kittens have little to no experience with humans. Which means interacting with humans can be very scary. Feral kittens can have a little extra spice, but with some time and love, they will adjust to their new life indoors. Watch this video below for some tips and tricks to socialize your kitten successfully.

Mamas and Kittens

Taking on a mama and her kittens can be so much fun. You will get to watch as your fosters learn to become independent. It's important that mammas and their babies have a nice, quiet place to stay as they learn and grow. Watch the video below for more tips on welcoming these fosters into your home.

Extra Support Fosters

Some of our fosters need a little extra support. Special needs cases can take many different forms. Some kittens may require special medical attention due to injury or illness. The National Kitten Coalition and The Kitten Lady are great resources for fosters who need additional attention.
